Are we not all covered in darkness,
chained,
oppressed, broken, in need of a savior, a light in a dark room? Are we not all in need of a word to set us free
to break off the strongholds of the past, the lies of the past?
Do we not need a merciful savior to set us free?
Do we need Jesus?
He died on the cross so we could have abundant life. Do we see it? Do we call out to him? Do we preach about him from our pulpits?
Do we let them see him?
Are we guided by a spirit? Do we let the spirit take over and rule the service?
Or do we stick to schedules, usher people in and out of the building quickly because the next group's coming in. And we've got to clear the parking lot because it's about numbers and not about true conversions to where they have an encounter with Jesus to where they're lifted up out of their affliction, out of their darkness and brought into his marvelous light. Have we reduced ourself ourselves as a body of believers to numbers on a Sunday service?
Do we look to Jesus to transform,
to teach, to heal, to restore, to redeem? All the years the locust stole the cankerworm and the palmer worm. Do we look to the true source of it all, the author and finisher? Do we look to God Almighty, the God of of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our precious Lord Jesus? Do we look to the work done on the cross? Do we preach the cross? Do we preach the simplicity of the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? the blood of Jesus that heals, that restores, that redeems. Have we lost the ability to preach the gospel that sets people free, that breaks the yoke of bondage off a generation and a world?
Have we compromised, conformed to the world and their religious traditions
with these mega churches that we feel over and over and over and over again with thousands and thousands and thousands of lost and broken people that are dying inside. and spiritually dead.
But yet the author of life, Jesus. All we have to do is preach Jesus. Show him the healing, the miracles of the acts of the apostles. Bring back the spiritled fire of the almighty God and the power that sets free, that transforms, that breaks the yoke of bondage off. That's all we have to do. But do we do it? Do we do it? Do we do it? Do we look to Romans 3:23, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God? Romans 6:23, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5'8, but God commendeth his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:9-10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Do we look to a sinner's prayer for forgiveness? Dear God, I know I'm a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ is the son of God who died for me and rose from the grave. I want to turn from my sin and trust Jesus Christ alone as my savior. Thank you for the forgiveness and everlasting life I can now have through faith in Jesus in Jesus's name. Amen. a gift freely given to us that we don't earn. Romans 10:13, for so whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved shall be saved. Do we look to Psalm 138 and remember? I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart. I will sing your praises before the gods. I will I bow before your holy temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailingly love and faithfulness. For your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. As soon as I pray, you answer me. You encourage me by giving me strength. Do we bring strength into the pulpit? Do we bring strength into the weak, to the lost, to the broken? Do we show them the promises found in God's word? every kind, every king in all earth will thank you, Lord, for all of them will hear your words. Yes, they will sing about the Lord's ways. For the glory of the Lord is very great. Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud. Though I'm surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand and the power of your right hand saves me. The Lord will work out his plans for my life. For your faithful love, oh Lord, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me. And we rebuke that spirit of rejection, those spirits of pride. And we look to the author and finisher. We look to the creator of all things. We look to our Lord Jesus Christ. We look to our Lord Jesus Christ. And we remember. We remember. We remember. We remember Romans Romans 7. So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human a slave to sin. I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong. It is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good lives in me. That is in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can't. I want to do what is good, but I don't. I don't want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I'm don't want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong. It is sin living in me that does it. I have discovered this principle of life that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God's law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. The this power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am. Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God the answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see now it is in my mind. I really want to obey God's law be because of my sinful nature. I am a slave to sin. I am a slave to sin. But what does Roman 8? Romans 8 tell us. So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the lifegiving spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. So we put off our old nature and we ask the Holy Spirit to transform us layer by layer to help us to keep from sinning to to keep us with the strength to to wait on the Lord and his coming to have the endurance and the patience that we need. Oh God, help us. Oh God, help us. God, help us to turn from our evil ways to repent. Help us to to to to to walk as kingdom ambassadors of light. Help us to turn away from darkness. Turn away from addiction. Turn away from our sinful nature. Help us to crucify our flesh o flesh. Oh God. Help us to walk in your ways. Oh God. Free us God from sin. Strengthen us oh God. Free us from pride. Free us from ego. Oh God. Help us. strengthen us, oh God, as we humble ourselves before you. As we call out for your mercy, mercy, mercy, God, help us, God. Help us as a body of believers. Help us as a church. Help us to be led by the spirit of the almighty God. This the spirit that gives life. Help us to be Holy Spiritled
ambassadors of Christ transforming a nation, a region, and a world. And that's the message you have for us today. And that's the message you has have for us today. That you are the light that came into the world. You are the light that came into the world. You are the light that came into the world. You are the light of the world. You are a light of the world. As Matthew 5:14 through 16 tells us, "A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven. Thank you, Jesus. Help us, Jesus, in these darkest of times. Help us to know the way, to be the light, to not be deceived in this hour. Help us to preach Jesus, the gospel, the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus that cleanses, restores, sets free, and redeems. The love of Jesus,
give us life, oh God, this day and every day. Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. I'm Tammy Toney-Butler. author, evangelist, and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Glory be to Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus.
