Thy will be done. Thy will be done. It's in the moment of complete and total surrender to God's will and not yours that you arrive. Arrive at the place He called you to be. He positioned you to be. When you stop trying to control the outcome, trying to control how something happens, the timing of it to happen, When you let go of the fear of what's on the other end of that unknown. The other end of that unknown. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus agonized over the cross. and what He was going to have to endure for mankind. But He knew He had to obey the will of Father, because one moment in His presence changes everything. I had an encounter with Jesus, and I've never been the same. He set me free. He released me from years and years and years of torment, of a mind that was bound by evil and tormenting thoughts, self-condemnation. I was always at war in my brain, in my head. But Jesus, He came. He came and He spoke to that storm and He set me free. No longer coping through various addictions. He took the weight of it off and made me a completely new person. He's waiting to do the same for you, but you have to surrender. You have to obey. You have to let go. You have to let go of your need for control. To know the end from the beginning. You're not going to know the end when you follow Christ. When you're truly obedient to the will of the Almighty God. You have to walk by faith and not by sight. He may give you clues along the way. But the unknown is still something you have to face. What will He expect of me? What will God want me to do? Will I have to lay down my life like the earlier disciples? Like Jesus? Will I be martyred? Will you be? What will happen if we follow God in all His Glory and surrender completely to His will for our life? What happens when I trust God with my children, with my son or daughter who's out on the streets, addicted, homeless, or worse? How do I trust God with my marriage, How do I trust God with my finances? How do I trust God in a world that's so dark? I've trusted people before and look where it got me. What does God's word say? He'll never leave us nor forsake us. His promises are new every morning. He's our rear guard. He's our protector. Under Psalm ninety one. He gives us strength. That it like it says in Isaiah forty thirty one. We run and not grow weary, walk and not faint. We soar like eagles. He loves us. He sent Jesus to die for us. And Jesus. In that moment. In the garden of affliction. in the olive press of affliction, said, nevertheless, not My will be done, but Yours, O God. How many of you are saying that today? How many of you are walking so closely with God in a relationship with God that every day you wake up and you seek Him first above all else and you say, Father, praise You. I worship You. I'm so grateful. I'm grateful for all You've done for me. I'm grateful for how You provide for me. I'm grateful for how You're always with me and Your love never fails me. You never leave me. You're always with me when I call out to you, God. How do I serve you today? Not my will, but Yours be done on God, what's Your will today for my life? Do you need me to do something for the Kingdom of God? Do you need me to go somewhere? Do you need me to just sit still, rest in Your presence and praise You? Father, what is it You'd have me do today? Do you take that posture of humility before the Lord? Or do you charge into each day in your own strength, in your own intellect, in your own will, in essence, making yourself your own God, and then inviting God into your plans to bless your plans, to be a part of what you're doing? Have you gotten it wrong? Do you realize you're a daughter or son of the Most High King in a kingdom? And He's our Sovereign Ruler. He's our Commander in Chief. We have to get our marching orders from Him every day. Go in and say, Father, how can I serve the Kingdom of God today, this day? I don't know about you. But I want to be known as the woman or the man that does God's will above all else. And when I show up, they know God sent me. God sent me. That's what I want to be known for. That I'm that kind of obedient soldier. that goes where God sends me. When I show up in a location or a place, it's because God put me there. He put me there. And when I'm in that place, I don't get to choose it. I don't get to really have a say. I just obey. And go and take God where God wants to go. Because I'm His temple. I'm Jesus's body. He's the head. And I'm His hands and feet. It's really that simple. When you look at it, we just have to obey God. Surrender to everything else and every other voice. Every other thing vying for our attention and our time. And we truly have to put first the Kingdom of God. And then all else will be added unto us. So today, I choose God. I choose to surrender. I pray. I seek Him. I ask Him. What's His perfect will for my life? I don't want to be in a permissive will, something He just permits. Israel wanted a king and they got a king, but it wasn't God's perfect will for them. His perfect will for them was that He ruled them, that He guided them. And that's what first Samuel eight teaches us. We can have our way. We can ask God for things. He'll grant us certain things. But it's not His perfect will. And if it's outside His will, there's consequences. Sin has consequences. Disobedience has consequences. We must follow God this season like never before. Hearing Him, walking with Him, praising Him, trusting Him, and letting Him lead us beside still waters, knowing He's with us, knowing He's got us. He'll never suffer us to be removed from His grip. We're protected. We're loved. We're sheltered by the Most High. So go this day with a posture of humility. Surrender before the Lord. Get on your knees. Repent if you need to. And say, Father, how have I been disobedient? What's your perfect will for my life? How do I walk in tandem with you? How do I accept what doesn't look the way I thought it should be packaged? How do I accept the call you've placed on my life? where You've put me to serve. Help me, God. Help me to accept the things I cannot change, the things I cannot control, knowing You're in the midst of the garden of affliction. You're with me. You'll never leave me nor forsaken me. I love you, God. I love you, Jesus. Thank you for Your yes in the garden, for Your yes of going to the Cross and through Your death, Your persecution, Your thirty-nine stripes, Your rising from the dead, ascending to heaven, being seated in heavenly places, through the work done on the Cross, then Your yes, Your obedience, I've gained freedom.
